Missing Used Mini
Great Britain added 28 January 2008
In the space of a few months, two previously unrecorded used examples of the 6d Technology stamp issued 19 September 1966 have appeared missing red (the Minis). The first, with Harlow cancel and 25 OCT 1966 date, sold for CHF 5,400 at auction at Corinphila (Switzerland) in December 2007. The second, with Gilford (Co Down) cancel, was discovered some time ago by a collector in Northern Ireland who only recently reported the find to Stamp & Coin Mart magazine. Contemporary reports indicate rows seven to nine of a single sheet were affected by the loss of red. The Harlow-cancelled example has identical design centring to all known mint copies of the error, and consequently may come from the same sheet (although contemporary reports indicate the sheet yielded only mint copies). However, the Gilford-cancelled example is very different indicating another sheet was affected to some degree.

Unrecorded Anniversary
Great Britain added 19 December 2007
Missing red-orange from the 3p Anniversaries of 1971 used on-piece sold recently on Ebay for £325. The error, which affects the lapels of the nurse's coat, was previously only recorded mint. The used single is cancelled Stockport, Cheshire, with a 10 SEP 1971 date. The chances of other used copies with the error surfacing after more than 35 years since issue are increasingly remote.
